Your Love Runs Through My Veins
Your Love Runs Through My Veins
The rivers recently rose to historic levels here in Arkansas, and something about seeing them like that that was so fascinating to me.
I think I find it so interesting because I can relate. Rivers can be slow and calm, or they can grow so rapid that they demand respect. I’ve always been more aware of the meek side of myself, but as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to know a strength that lives quietly beneath the surface.
The river does not apologize for rising. It doesn’t hold back its force and takes up as much space as it needs.
It is both delicate and dangerous. Life-threatening and life-giving. Like love itself, the river is unyielding and unstoppable, coursing through the veins of the earth.
“For love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.
Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot sweep it away.”
Song of Songs 8:6-7
