I've spent the past few months asking myself that question. I have had a lifelong tendency to disappear, letting myself be carried away by the wants and needs of others.
Now, I am slowly working toward finding out who I am outside of the compulsion to manage other people's perceptions of me.
This painting was born out of that inner exploration.
We all have a world inside of us, an inner landscape that only we can fully experience. The more we explore that world, and the more we let others into it, the richer our lives become.
