This piece was the second one that I worked on in the Come to the Table Collection, but when I looked at the three paintings together, I could see that this one was clearly the beginning of the story.
Without a doubt, this piece was the most challenging of the three, clocking in at over 100 hours of painting time. It is intentionally intricate, overflowing with thoughtfully crafted dishes and details laid out on a table that, theoretically, could go on forever outside the frame.
This is a table where there is always more than enough and where there is always room for one more.
The table is set. The feast is prepared. There’s plenty to go around.
The only thing missing is you. And all that is asked of you is that come as fully and completely yourself.
