In Time, You Will Understand

Pain is perhaps the greatest mystery in life. It is only human to wonder why scars and suffering must walk us through this world.

But joy comes in the morning. Winter will end, and life and light will break through.

The bravest souls are not always the most boisterous. Sometimes they are the quiet warriors who, through the cold and barren seasons, choose to hold onto faith that the garden will bloom again.

I finished this piece on a day when I got some heavy news about something a friend was going through, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. What a sacred privilege it is to enter into the weight of someone’s sadness, to mourn with another while also recognizing that there is always hope on the other side.
