I was exploding with anger when I started this painting.

I started it just for the sake of working through my own feelings.

Eventually, I came to this image of a mother hugging a little girl as if to comfort her.

And the more I worked on it, the more I realized this painting was my way of preparing myself to receive the embrace that I craved.

I was painting a hug for myself.
