Collection: Come to the Table

In February of 2022, a cafe owner in Honduras came to me to commission some large-scale artwork for the cafe, which was one of my favorite places in town.

I brought some sample photos to the (literal) table; and while we ended up settling on some different imagery for those pieces, I found that, even months—almost two years!—later, I couldn't shake the need to paint something like what I had shown him that day.

I know that this collection was planted in my heart for such a time as this. I have gone through so much in the past year, moving back to the States with nothing but my husband, a couple of suitcases, and some faith mixed with my own blind optimism. 

These three pieces have been born out of my need to be fed, literally and figuratively, in a turbulent time, as well as gratitude for the abundance that was showered upon me—imperfect, incomplete, yet hinting at a greater fullness that awaits.
